New Beginnings & Finding Our Rhythm: Life After the Move
Hey Roomies!!
Today’s video is a little softer… a little more reflective… and honestly, one that feels very real.
Because this move? It hasn’t just been about boxes, furniture, or figuring out where the forks go (although yes… still working on that 😅). It’s been about something deeper — what happens when life gently (or not so gently) pushes you into change before you feel fully ready.

When a New House Doesn’t Feel Like Home… Yet
Moving into a new home sounds exciting — and it is — but let’s talk about the in-between stage.
The house is full of boxes.
Nothing is quite where it belongs.
You’re opening drawers like, “wait… where did I put that?”
It’s that phase where everything feels temporary… and yet, it’s the beginning of something permanent.
And while that can feel overwhelming, it’s also quietly beautiful.
Because standing here, in a space that hasn’t fully come together yet, means one thing:
you get to create it all over again.
The Beauty of Starting Fresh
There’s something incredibly special about a blank slate.
Every wall, every room, every corner holds potential. The vision is still forming. The energy is still shifting. And I get to reimagine, redesign, and “romify” this home in a way that reflects where we are now — not where we used to be.
It’s exciting.
It’s a little chaotic.
And it’s completely ours.
Learning to Adapt (Even When You Didn’t Plan To)
One of the biggest lessons this move has reminded me of is how adaptable we really are.
Plans change. Ideas shift. And sometimes what you thought would work… just doesn’t.
Like realizing the rug in Alexa’s piano room?
Not it.
It didn’t align with the art I’m envisioning, which means pivoting, rethinking, and bringing in a whole new energy for that space.
And honestly? That’s design.
It’s not about perfection — it’s about being willing to adjust until it feels right.
Behind the Scenes: The Real Life of Moving In
This stage isn’t glamorous — but it’s real.
You’ll see moments of:
installing security cameras
organizing the kitchen (slowly but surely)
opening boxes like little treasure chests
figuring out systems before styling
Right now, we’re focused on making the house livable before it becomes beautiful.
Because function always comes before flair… even if the flair is coming very soon.
The Meaning of the Dragonfly
If you’ve been here for a while, you know I love symbolism in design and in life.
For me, dragonflies represent transformation. Change. New beginnings. The quiet reminder that growth is happening — even when things feel uncertain.
And standing in this house, surrounded by half-unpacked boxes and evolving ideas, that’s exactly what this moment feels like.
A beginning.
A transition.
A transformation in progress.
What’s Coming Next
There’s still so much to do:
organizing each room
planning upgrades
choosing paint colors
designing intentionally
and starting with Alexa’s room so she feels settled first
And then… we begin the full transformation. The layering. The details. The moments where this house starts to feel like home.
A New Chapter, Together
This isn’t just a move. It’s a reset. A chance to create something new while carrying everything we’ve learned with us.
And I’m so grateful you’re here to experience it alongside me.

Thank you for being here, roomies!
For holding space for the messy middle, the new beginnings, and everything in between.
As always…
I look forward to creating with you
