What If This Iconic Las Vegas Space Were Designed Today?

Hey roomies

Today’s video is one of those put your walking shoes on and your design brain to work kind of moments—and honestly, these are some of my favorite conversations to have with you.

In this episode, I’m strolling through one of the most iconic spaces in Las Vegas and asking a simple but powerful question:
What would this look like if it were redesigned today?

Not demolished. Not disrespected. Just… reimagined—with fresh eyes, modern needs, and a little extra drama (because yes, we are still in Vegas).

Why Iconic Spaces Are the Most Fun to Rethink

When a space becomes iconic, it almost freezes in time. We stop questioning it because it’s familiar. We accept it because it holds memories. But great design doesn’t stay great by standing still—it stays great by evolving thoughtfully.

As I walk through this space, I talk through my real, unfiltered design thought process:

  • what still feels timeless

  • what’s starting to feel dated

  • and where there’s room to elevate the experience

This isn’t about judgment. It’s about curiosity.

Scale, Drama & Real-Life Movement

One of the biggest things I focus on in this walkthrough is scale. Iconic spaces often rely on grandeur—and while that drama is important, it has to work with how people actually move through the space.

I break down:

  • where scale enhances the experience

  • where it overwhelms instead of welcomes

  • and how certain features could better support flow, pause, and connection

Design isn’t just about making a statement—it’s about making sense.

Materials, Finishes & the Power of Intentional Choices

We also talk materials—because materials tell stories whether we realize it or not.

In the video, I touch on:

  • finishes that feel locked into a specific era

  • opportunities to modernize without erasing character

  • flooring choices and how they affect movement and mood

  • where greenery could soften, ground, and humanize the space

Sometimes the biggest upgrades aren’t flashy—they’re thoughtful.

This Is Not a “Rip It All Out” Conversation

Let’s be clear (because design panic helps no one):
This is not about tearing something down for the sake of change.

Iconic spaces deserve respect. They deserve context. They deserve evolution—not erasure. This walkthrough is about asking why something exists, understanding the intention behind it, and imagining how it could better serve people today—while still honoring what made it special in the first place.

Great design listens before it speaks.

Inspiration Doesn’t Only Live at Home

One of the reasons I love doing videos like this is because they remind us that design inspiration doesn’t only come from houses.

Some of the best ideas come from:

  • hotels

  • lobbies

  • public spaces

  • destinations we pass through every day

If you train your eye, the world becomes your mood board.

Why I Love These Walkthroughs

Videos like this keep design fun, curious, and creative. They remind us that design isn’t about perfection—it’s about exploration. About asking better questions. About staying open to new ideas, even in familiar places.

Whether you’re a designer, a homeowner, or someone who just loves beautiful spaces, my hope is that this video encourages you to look at the world around you a little differently.

As always, thank you for coming along with me.
Thank you for being a Roomie.
And thank you for creating with me!
